After schooling she went to USA and got Masters Degree n Economics from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, with a perfect 4.00 GPA. After graduation, she worked for Goldman Sachs, one of the largest global investment banks.
After returning from abroad she learned classical Indian dance Bharatnatyam. She also worked in theatres with Satyadev Dubey.
Amisha's Bollywood career was started from the movie "Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai" in 2000. She was spotted by Rakesh Roshan, a film director and friend of her father in a party at Bombay. The film was great success and she became a celebrity overnight. Her text two movies Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" in 2001, also done great at box office. Both the films won her several awards for her wonderful acting abilities. After that, her series of movies did flop at box-office.
